Y’know what’s awesome about The Avengers? In just about any other movie, this bit above would have been a huge set-piece with a giant preamble. But here, it’s just an almost blink-and-you-miss-it thing in the background, as if one of the most awesome action moments you will ever see committed to film is just an after-thought.
I mean, this movie is too busy racking up energy to prepare you for the rag-doll scene or Tony with the party leviathan trailing after him, that this is just “Meh, here’s something that would be the most memorable thing in any other movie. Let’s throw it in as padding.”
